Dr. Christopher Royles is the Field CTO for EMEA at Cloudera. He helps organizations innovate through the use of data, working across industries that are regulated and organizations where data privacy is critical.
Chris’s focus is on the development of skills and methods for migration to the Enterprise Data Cloud. Chris holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Liverpool University, which he subsequently applied to voice recognition and voice dialogue systems.
Chris has advised on Government Open Data initiatives as part of the Open Data User Group (ODUG) and sat on the quick wins stream of the UK Government Cloud Program (GCloud). He is also a Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS). Previously Chris has held roles at Oracle, Pitney Bowes, and Vicorp.

After a master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino in Italy, Paolo focused on innovative distributed technologies, achieving top-level certifications and a notable curriculum in software development.
He is the co-founder (2014) and CTO of Agile Lab, a fast-growing company focused on scalable technologies, Big Data and AI in production. Within the organization, Paolo leads Operations and Architecture. In the years he has been involved in very challenging Big Data projects around Europe with top enterprise companies.
Starting from 2019 Paolo has become one of the emerging leaders in the Data Mesh and Data Strategy in Europe, driving 6 Data Mesh implementations at large enterprises, contributing to the community and creating Witboost, a Data Product Management platform.
